Perception of Farmers on Maize as a Potential Crop for Climate Change Adaptation in Northern Bangladesh

The main purposes of this research study was to determine the perception farmers on maize as a potential crop for climate change adaptation and access problems faced by in production. Maize cultivation is getting importance Bangladesh, with economic efficiency production estimated at 87%. Data were collected from four villages Biral Upazila under Dinajpur district Northern Bangladesh during 28 March April 2018 90 randomly sleeted farmers. Both descriptive correlation coefficients test performed statistical analysis. Results revealed that almost three-fifths (61.10 percent) had medium, while 20.00 percent them low 18.90 high adaption. Correlation analysis indicated age, education, cosmopoliteness, training received, knowledge extension media contact significant positive relationships their On contrary, farm size, area, farming experience annual income no relationship ‘Non-availability storage facilities’ ranked 1st or top Other (in descending order) included ‘getting fair price problem due interfere middleman’, ‘non-availability labour’, ‘lack /or inadequate weather forecast technologies’, ‘no hybrid seed availability, ‘non-habit human consumption food’, ‘poor information regarding strategies farmers’, inputs time’, ‘non-suitability land cultivation’, well agricultural service delivery’. Further, it might be recommended necessary support should provided growers minimize prioritize basis.
